Random things Leah has been up to lately...

Opens and closes bedroom and bathroom doors upstairs. I had to go get some door pinch guards to make sure she doesn't hurt herself.

Moves furniture around. She's been moving the kitchen chairs around the kitchen for some time now. She "helps" when I am moving an end table or something around (since it seems I'm always rearranging things).

Still loves running and climbing on the couch. Recently, when we had family visitors over, we had to move the couch out away from the wall because she was able to stand up on the back of the couch and could put her foot up on the ledge between the kitchen and family room.

Hides little cards and receipts underneath the glider chair seat cushion.

Carries things around her shoulders, like a measuring tape, a belt, or her stuffed snake.

Swings her arms vigorously while walking around. Walks around funny with her knees bent when she's being relaxed and silly.

"Tap-dances" and pounds her feet just for the enjoyment of it. Loves to run everywhere and tries to jump up and down.

Is coming up with new dance moves, like bobbing up and down, rotating her hands, and twisting her torso to the beat.

Tries to get her feet in my flip-flops.

Likes putting things on top of her head. If I put something on my head, she does it, too. She especially likes her new headband and sets it on top of her head like a crown and brings it to me to put it on her.

Says "this" and "that" with a questioning voice and points at things all day long, like she's asking me, "what's this?" "what's that?". So I am naming and labeling things a lot for her.

When I say "Where's .....?" She points at it. She finds things she sees in books and goes and gets it in the house. For example, she saw a xylophone in one of her picture books and she ran right over to her xylophone (which looks very different) and started banging on it.

Loves to "head-butt" her balloons all the time. John taught her this and she is still playing with her birthday balloons and head-butting them.

Loves the Dutch song that Beppe taught her and puts her hands on her head and sways back and forth to get us to sing it to her.

Still says dog and cat all the time. Still recognizes them everywhere and points.

Still plays with her ball popper machine every day. This was the first thing we gave her when we brought her home four months ago, and she still loves it. I guess we're getting our money's worth on this one.

Likes to sit on the edge of her ducky tub and tries to climb out of it. It won't be long before she outgrows her ducky tub.

Helps when getting dressed and undressed. She steps out of her pants and shorts and always helps in getting her arms in and out of shirts.

The first thing she does when she wakes up is to stand up on the bed, even before she's really awake.

Still makes pretend phone calls all day long.

Loves pop/rock music, like Daughtry and Pink. When they're on, she laughs and dances.

Plays very well by herself with her toys. Really loves her Little People toys and sits quietly for some time and plays with them. Does the ring stacker and shape sorter by herself.

Loves watching the TV show, Wipe Out, and especially loves when the Big Balls are on.

Loves watching So You Think You Can Dance, and dances around during the show.

Grabs our noses and squeezes. Plants big, sloppy, wet kisses on our mouths.

Blows kisses and kisses her toys making the sound "mwah".

Is starting to follow simple one-step commands.

Understands "hajima", the Korean word for "don't do it". She bursts into tears when she hears this, so we only reserve it for important things.
